Dr.'s Q && A
Before I am an engineer or a scientist, I am a human. This page offers a glimpse into where I stand in my journey, for the colleagues and collaborators who want to understand not just what I do, but how I think and who I am.

How long have you been writing code?
The first time I used a terminal, I was around 7 years old. It was MS-DOS running on an i386 machine. I started coding in middle school, working with (very old) languages such as BASIC and Delphi. In high school, I discovered C/C++. In grad school, Python.
Python has since become my primary language — I even published a book on it in 2014 (one of the first open-source Python solutions to classic computer science problems in algorithms and data structures).
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to write production code in many other languages, including Ruby (Shopify), Swift (Apple), Go, C++, Java, Rust, Solidity, Shell, Terraform, IDL, MATLAB, R, and JavaScript.
These days, I'm super fan of Rust and Lean, I build AI and backends in Python, and I vibe-code in JavaScript. -
What are your current goals?
I have three main priorities in my life:
1️⃣ The new career path I am pursuing
2️⃣ My handsome soulmate life partner
3️⃣ My home, family, and close friends -
What is your weekly schedule? How often do you publish open-source code and writings?
⭐️ I am extremely focused on my career, and I usually work 8–14 hours per weekday
⭐️ On Saturdays, I recharge, take care of personal matters, and try to do something fun — whether that's playing sports, exploring new places, or enjoying time with loved ones
⭐️ On Sundays, I hold my give-back-to-the-community day: I host my heart-to-heart sessions, publish a new story on Marina OS, a new poem on Luna Capra, and a new post on Dev Notes (plus, whenever I can, I update my side projects and writings)

What does your day-to-day life look like?
I love routines and my mornings tend to follow the same rhythm:
☀️ Wake up, shower, spa
☀️ Meditation, yoga, headstand
☀️ Have coffee and a protein-based breakfast
☀️ Journal, play chess and the piano
☀️ Start working
In the evenings, I usually:
🌙 Organize the next day's schedule, check all my messages, read the news, journal
🌙 Have fun → play videogame or VR, read a nice book, watch a nice movie, dance like no one is watching, cook something healthy && delicious, go shooting some guns, go for a nice walk, do a gym workout, or go on a date with the love of my life
🌙 Shower, spa, pray, bedtime

What's the deal with communicating through numbers?
My brain is very analytical (after all, I've spent most of my life focused on theoretical physics or software engineering). Therefore, I've a peculiar way of seeing reality and expressing my thoughts, which is heavily focused on pattern recognition (and I tend to embed certain numerical rules and symmetries into almost everything I do).
Some of my online followers learned these rules and started applying them as well, so we ended up creating a collective natural language based on numerical expression. Here are some hints:
➡️ 2, 4, 6, and 10 tend to be "soft" communication (each with its own particular meaning)
➡️ 5 tends to be on the side of alerting (or, depending on the context, chaos!)
➡️ 1 and 8 are related to each other in some sense (can you figure out how?)
➡️ 3, 7, and 9 are more mysterious... (and fun?)
➡️ 13 and 19 might mean something whimsical
I don't follow any of these games anymore — life keeps me too busy — but it makes me happy that my fans enjoyed it and found a love for math. -
How have you traveled to so many places?
During the first part of my life, I had a big dream to explore the world and experience all cultures, so I would accept any opportunity to travel through my research.
In the last decade, because my work as an engineer pays reasonably well and has allowed me to work remotely, I have been able to achieve this goal consistently.
I have been to 30+ countries, lived in dozens of cities, and visited almost every state in the USA. One of my goals for the second part of my life is to tell beautiful, compelling stories about my experiences and the things I've seen. -
What's your religion?
My family is German and Italian, with a Jewish side, but I was raised Catholic (and I am confirmed). In my 20s, I became atheist. In my 30s, I explored several aspects of spirituality, including Eastern philosophies (and I was vegetarian for many years).
Nowadays, even though I have found myself drawn to the Jewish and Christian traditions, I am very eclectic in my views of reality (as you can see through my humanistic works). -
Have you ever consensually shared any of your personal life or authorized access to your devices?
Absolutely not. I am, and always have been, a very private and reserved person (and I have decades of security experience, plus all my devices are always on lockdown mode).
Please be aware of criminal activities (e.g., impersonation, defamation, deepfakes). I have been off social media and public group chats for many years, and the only official links to my work have always been those provided on this website.
